The Fund for Reconstruction and Development and the Islamic Development Bank are strengthening cooperation in the field of health care On May 21, 2025, a meeting of representatives of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the President of the IDB, Muhammad Al-Jassir, was held in Algiers within the framework of the annual meeting of the Islamic Development Bank. During the negotiations, issues of further strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding partnerships in socially important sectors were discussed.
The parties paid special attention to the implementation of projects in the field of health care. At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to sign a loan agreement in the amount of 92.8 million US dollars for the construction of multidisciplinary hospitals in the Kashkadarya region.
This agreement will be an important step in providing the population of the region with modern medical infrastructure and improving the quality of medical services.
It was noted that the Fund for Reconstruction and Development and the Islamic Development Bank are ready to continue active cooperation and expand the portfolio of joint projects for the sustainable socio-economic development of Uzbekistan.

The document envisages cooperation between the parties in implementing a project to create a modern specialized medical institution equipped with advanced technologies and meeting international standards, which will allow improving the accessibility and quality of oncological care for children.
The signing of the memorandum was an important step towards strengthening the strategic partnership between the Fund and the Islamic Development Bank, and also confirmed a common commitment to the goals of sustainable development in the field of health and child health.

The Fund for Reconstruction and Development and the EBRD are strengthening cooperation on infrastructure modernization On June 12, 2025, a meeting of representatives of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Adil Reno Basso, was held in Tashkent. During the negotiations, the main areas of bilateral cooperation and issues of further expansion of the partnership were discussed.
The parties agreed to sign a loan agreement on a project to modernize 110 pumping stations aimed at increasing the efficiency of the country's water infrastructure within the framework of the 2025 Tashkent International Investment Forum.
In addition, the prospects for expanding the EBRD's portfolio of private projects in Uzbekistan, including the development of sustainable and innovative solutions in priority sectors of the economy, were considered.
